But Is He Jewish?
and Other Quirky Tales
Daniel Wolf
About the Book
“But Is He Jewish? is divided into three sections. The first section, “Quirky Tales,” consists of fifty short stories. Although each touches upon some aspect of Jewish life and culture, they deal with such universal themes as love, mortality, courage, coming of age, and the importance of family. The following section, “Mishegas” (Yiddish for craziness), includes stand-up comedy routines, the philosophical musings of a fictitious rabbi, advice for daily living (“A Guide for the Confused”), “Eighty Questions to Ponder,” and nonsensical poetry (“Quit”).ho
The final section, “Animals with Attitudes”, features four humorous mini-plays with animals (elephants, lions, housecats, and rhinoceroses) taking on Jewish characteristics and even speaking some Yiddish (translations provided).
In all, But Is He Jewish? provides a delightful reading experience, as it addresses a variety of topics in a mostly humorous but always human manner.”

The Great Kickin’ Dog
Kenneth Crutchfield
About the Book
Ex musician, assembly line worker and alcoholic, John Coleman Sr. is a man with deferred and shattered dreams. Living in a Chicago housing project during the 60’s he is a father raising his eight-member family; four girls, two musical prodigy boys and a mentally unstable wife, in a drug, gang and gun infested environment among households with absent dads. During a competitive time of young musical prodigies, he fights for a pathway out of the projects through his talented sons. On a quest to find a way out, he drags his gifted boys on a whirlwind journey of hope, from talent shows to south side Blues clubs and observes their reputation growing with each performance. But along with the journey to see his boys “get great”, is his ongoing struggle with alcohol, his wife’s neurotic behavior and the fortified barrier of resentment from his jealous daughters all brought on by a family history of mental illness. Not only does John Coleman Sr. have to contend with the inner turmoil of his family, but a family tragedy shakes him to the core and threatens the sanctity of his high-spirited loved ones. The ‘GREAT’ Kickin’ Dog is a Black experience during a turbulent time of civil rights in the 6o’s and free spirits of the 70’s embedded in the cradle of Chicago’s segregation. It is a coming-of-age saga of passion, perseverance and the courage to rise above; a compelling story of hope and the question of fate. -
The Broken Badge III
The Final Chapter
D.F. Sparks
About the Book
Samuel Cooper, a former Texas Ranger turned United States Marshall, a highly religious man and a firm believer in reincarnation, the afterlife, heaven, hell, the devil, and most of all, “God”, had dedicated his life to upholding the law and defending the innocent when his parents were killed by a gang of marauders. He set out on a personal journey to bring every one of these men before the bar, to answer for the blood they had shed, and the innocent lives they had destroyed. The leader of this gang goes by the name of Klein, a cold-blooded killer who feels nothing for anybody or anything. After a long pursuit, Cooper is finally captured by the notorious outlaw and with his dying breath, he places a curse on the outlaw and swears that another will wear his badge and will come for him. When he does, hell will be in his right hand in the form of a Colt 45. This is the story from the start to finish at the legend of the broken badge. Maybe right doesn’t always win, but it always makes a strong statement and brings forth a judgment either in this life or the next.About the Author

Iceman of the Apocalypse
Timothy McDonnell
About the Book
Deputy Sloan Wallace participates in a scientific experiment, ingesting a pill that was told would only be temporary. Turned out the pill was a permanent implant, which was part of a radical new experiment performed by a desperate scientist out of time. Scarred by the process, Sloan abruptly left the experiment, hoping to continue with his normal life, until his world was turned upside down by the apocalypse.About the Author
Inspiration is a funny thing… you’ll never know where it will come from. I haven’t watched a lot of TV in my later years, until a show about the zombie apocalypse caught my attention. I would watch the show religiously, and later the show became a part of my life here in Michigan. Most fans would follow their favorite actor or actress. Some fans would even go to a Comicon. It inspired me to write. I never thought I would be writing about the zombie apocalypse, but I could not resist. The ideas just kept flowing and I just kept writing. This journey started in 2015 and you are about to read the conclusion of the first chapter in a new saga. Maybe this is one worth reading. All the readers out there will be the judge. I hope you find this story entertaining. I wish you all the best. — Timothy McDonnell -

Ring Around the Circle
Ralph Pilolli
About the Book
A time of ‘Once’ or a time ‘Forth coming’ is within the psyche of you who continues to read on. Your imagination will then take you to “My Land of Philantasy”.About the Author
Twelve years of Catholic School; liking, loving, learning, understanding and accepting all the unanswered questions had a universal word. A word I believed fully until the church started changing the rules. Even that, with reservation, was –OK! I’ll hang on to the magic word. Next came the most precious of all to be changed, the communication between the creator and myself, the meditation of the mass. This was what tainted the magical, universal word. This word needed answers. Through much reading, thinking, conversing and meditation. A philosophy about life and death has given me my magic universal word back, my magic word is again untainted you will see it in my writings. It is called “FAITH,” “FAITH OF LIFE”, and “FAITH OF DEATH”. It is called “UNIVERSAL FAITH.”I was literally coerced into writing a weekly auto racing column in a fairly large newspaper. This expanded into an additional bi-weekly column in a popular auto racing paper. The point being, a writer is generally told, write what you know best.

STOP trying to prove YOU’RE right AND START proving GOD is right
Eugene Abe
About the Book
“This book was impressed on me by the Lord, to wright these messages in poetic form. Never did anything like this in my life. As God would give me little titles I would wright them on paper which I kept in my pocket. Then most times within a week or two it would end up as a sermon in poetic form. This book covers multiple subjects which each of us face in life.
This book is designed for whoever reads this book, to cause you to think things out, and then to form your own thinking as how God would have you process it.
The emphasis of this book is to read and study it with an open mind, as you study the scriptures on your own. The reason there are few scriptures in this book is to cause you to want to search the scriptures yourself, to prove whether it is right or wrong. That is why God’s word informs us in 2 Timothy 2: 15, “Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
This scripture informs us that we are to study God’s word in order to find what God requires of us, what he empresses on our heart as taught by Jesus to us in Matthew 25: 14-30.
When we read and study God’s Word, read it with an open mind, asking him what he has for you today. We will never know it all, for we will keep learning till Jesus comes, or we leave this earth. Never allow people to put a guilt trip on you that you must know it all.”About the Author
It has been an amazing journey for this 74 year old man which has been a Christian for 62 years. Yet it has taken him to heights in the Lord, which he never dreamed possible. This has been an amazing journey for him as God has put a zeal in his heart like never before. For a man which never liked to study, and English was one of his worst subjects, yet God has put a hunger in his heart to be sure he knows the word properly. He has taken to heart, that he can be wrong in his thinking, and that he is more than willing to change to God’s way rather than his own thinking. He is not interested in man’s thoughts, but only God’s. Knowing That Christ is coming soon.
Because of his hunger for the truth, God woke him up one night and gave him the thought, which has become the title of this book. He is totally convinced that any one which puts this truth in effect in their life, their life will be totally renewed in Christ. So much of the teaching which he once embraced was proven to be nothing but half-truth. It has given him a greater zeal than ever before, to find truth.

It’s About Time
Renee Bobson
About the Book
A true story about my life from birth until now, however I am calling it fictional. (To protect the guilty)It tells the story of Renee, her ancestors and her family. Renee lived through the trauma of family dysfunction, sexual and physical abuse and political turmoil. She remembers the assassination of JFK, MLK, and the uprising of the Black Panthers. Similarly, her great, great grandmother remembers the assassination of Lincoln and the Civil war. Was there dysfunction throughout time with all of her ancestors?
Renee lived through separate water fountains, separate counters and back of busses. Her great great grandmother lived through slavery and unimaginable trauma. There is sorrow, laughter and triumph.
This is only the beginning of a 3-book series. Book 1 starts with Renee as a baby and ends with her entering the military.
Book 2 will end with Renee’s Divorce and 911.
Book 3 will end with retirement and COVID. There will be many instances of comparisons to lives of ancestors. This will be a fascinating series, book one is eye opening. Books 2 and 3 will be no less shocking.
“It’s About Time”. There is nothing new under the sun.”
About the Author
Renee is a black woman, born in the 1950s during segregation in a small suburb. She did well in school, and was always a writer. She went into the military at the age of 18, she then married and had 2 children, however that’s book 2.
She moved and worked for State universities, she survived COVID and more political unrest but that’s book 3. -
