The Story Of A Man
Marvin A. Hayes
About the Book
The Story Of A Man is a collection of poems that express emotions of love, pain, laughter, wisdom and self-reflection. Poetry has always been a passion of mine and it later became the avenue to express the memory of the comings and goings of my existence. This is the reason why I chose the title, “”The Story Of A Man.”” Many of the poems were written during my years in undergrad. My college years came and went; however years later I contemplated publishing them. It was then I decided to begin the journey to publish the story of my life. When thinking about the book cover and what I wanted to express to the reader, I chose to use my drawing of Muhammad Ali. Ali is one of my favourite hero’s and a poet himself. In fact the first poem in the book is about Muhammad Ali, a man with an amazing story of struggle and triumph. I selected his picture in hope of attracting the attention of readers who understand each person has an individual story. Just like Ali we all too may experience struggles, pain, and triumph. This book also includes photos that show that my life has been very full.
The photos in the book include pictures of my wife of 50yrs. Mrs. Geraldine Elaine Robinson Hayes, and our legacy which includes my two older children and our five children which makes for 30 grandchildren. I hope that each reader enjoys the poems and pictures and it encourages them to embrace the story of their own life.

What’s Up
Vocabulary for Those New to America
Jimmy Gyasi Boateng
About the Book
The idea behind this book is to make the reader aware of slang expressions used by typical Americans. Although some people might have attended institutions of higher education in their native countries, when they come to America, often they are baffled or confused by American slang, whether consciously or unconsciously. Most of my friends who went to college before coming to America also have problems because they don’t let go of their understanding of the local American lingo.
Even though I came from a country—Ghana—whose official language is English, (we were colonized by the British), I had a very hard time understanding the Americans’ use of the informal English language. Statements like, “Are you nuts?” meant a whole different thing to me until after I had been here for a while and then I began to decipher what the subtle meanings of these slang expressions are when it comes to the American dialect.
I began to compile these American expressions and put them together in book form so that people who are new to this country might appreciate and understand what they mean. It is my hope that this small book will help both Americans and new immigrants alike, basically by learning these expressions, using them when appropriate, and knowing when not to use expressions that may “rub people in America the wrong way.About the Author
Jimmy Gyasi Boateng was born and raised in Bonwire, the historical Kente cloth town of Ghana. I attended Phillips Commercial College in Kumasi, Ghana and after graduation came to Accra, the capital of Ghana, to find a job. I was fortunate enough to be hired by the Parliament House, National Assembly, as a clerical officer, where I worked with Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana.
When the Nkrumah administration was overthrown, I continued to work with the second government of Ghana, led by Dr. Kofi Busia and his administration. I remained in this employment with Parliament for ten years before taking a new position with the State Insurance Corporation of Ghana as a librarian.
I came to the United States in 1978 and worked in several factories and institutions, among them Microfibres Corporation. I was chosen as the Associate of the Year in 1996. I have been a loyal employee of the company for twenty-five years.
In addition to working with Microfibres, I have worked for the Massachusetts judiciary for eight years as an interpreter through Inlingua of Boston, and I continue to work with Team Ops of the New England Patriots Football Team at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
I continued my education with a senior high school equivalency diploma from Cranston West, Cranston, Rhode Island, and continued at Rhode Island Trade Shops School, where I graduated in 1982. I furthered my education at Genesis Center with a diploma in Culinary Arts in 2002. Additionally, I hold a certificate from the New England Gerontology Academy. -
Vastly Discordant Remunerations
Case for a Modestly Higher Progressive Taxation
A.G. Alias
About the Book
“This essay is a summary of a book with the same theme and title I have been trying to write since 2012. I couldn’t finish it to my satisfaction. I then felt I might never finish it. And I suspended my book project to focus on this lengthy summary. There may be some lacunae in this summary, as in the book version. And my scholarship in economics is admittedly weak. Despite that, I believe a majority among the readers who take the time to read this would agree with my basic arguments. As embedded in the title, the remunerations that each of us gets have very little correlation to what we are worth, or to our skill and effort. Therefore, moderate tax-hikes on the top 0.1% incomes to about 50% to spend on various public service and social safety-net programs are substantially beneficial to any society. The misery of the least among us must be alleviated.”
About the Author
I am a retired Indian American psychiatrist who arrived in America in 1971. I have some fourteen, mostly single-author publications to my credit, including a short one in The Lancet – “Androgen-Dysgenesis: A Predisposing Factor in Schizophrenia?” (1972), which is more relevant now with the discovery of neuroactive sex-steroids in different brain areas than in the 1970s, when some complex combination of hyper as well as hypoactivity in the dopamine system in critical brain sites was seen as the determinant of schizophrenic psychopathology.I would greatly appreciate it if the readers would point out, with or without their suggestions, the “errors” and/or disagreements they encounter with this.

The Modern-Day Cyrus
2nd Edition
Rev. Robert Antwi
About the Author
During the Exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land, God told the Israelites that the city in which He would place His name should be their center of worship or the economic capital. “But unto the place which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek and thither thou shall come.”(Deuteronomy 12:5) Around 1000 BC the God of Abraham selected Jerusalem to place His name there and David to rule His people. David became king of ancient Israel when God selected Jerusalem to place His name and made Jerusalem the center of worship {spiritual and economic capital}. “But I have chosen Jerusalem that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.”(2 Chronicles 6:6) Therefore, God chose Jerusalem to put His name there and David to rule over His people (Israel). The Jew know their history and Jerusalem was proclaimed the capital. On May 14, 1948, Ben-Gurion proclaimed the formation of Israel. Jerusalem is the capital and the largest city in Israel. Tel Aviv is Israel’s economic and technology center. Jerusalem is the capital, but it has limited recognition. International bodies and many countries around the world do not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. I believe it is time for the world to recognize Jerusalem as the capital. I believe Donald Trump won the election to declare and recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. In 538 BC, Crazy he save the Babylonians. I have declared President Donald Trump the modern-day Cyrus. Just as King Cyrus set the Babylonian captivity, Donald Trump is setting Jerusalem free from the slave of unrecognition.

Upon seeking a safe piece of land and environment to settle, they founded “The Village of Godcha”. The Elders were elated to see everybody working together again, the Elves with their strong bodies and ability to put structures together speedily, and Trolls with their brilliant minds and ability to quickly solve any problem. When their perfect little world began to erode the Elders came together in prayer, deciding to have faith and trust that things will be different this time around and their world will get better. Christ In You
The Hope of Glory
Dr. Billy J. Owensby
About the Book
The Book of Colossians is known as one of the Prison Epistles. The authorship is attributed to the Apostle Paul and strong evidence of that in seen within the letter to the church at Colossae. Colossians is one of the shortest of Paul’s letters, yet it is one of the most exciting. Paul most
likely wrote this letter while he was a prisoner in Rome in A.D. 62. Colossians is referred to as the sister Epistle of Ephesians, also a prison Epistle. The evidence of this is seen in the fact that seventy-five verses found in the letter of Colossians are found in the Ephesian letter also. The verse-by-verse exposition of Colossians and also the book of Philemon will give the serious Bible student a greater understanding of the text and theme of these books. The central theme of Colossians is none other than the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Philemon could be seen as having many themes such as Christian courtesy, Christian brotherhood, forgiveness, the law of love, and the saving power of Jesus Christ. These two short writings of the Apostle Paul will be a great inspiration to all who seek to learn more about Christ In You, the hope of glory.
